Event: LGA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2026

About this event

The LGA Annual Conference and Exhibition brings together senior leaders from local and central government, alongside colleagues from public sector organisations, charities and businesses. The conference programme features sessions and expert speakers addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing local government today.

This is an essential event for anyone working at a senior level in local government or working with local authorities across the public and private sectors.

Government Commercial Agency (GCA) will be at stand T17. Come along to find out how we can support your council with its commercial needs, and to meet our team.

We will also be hosting a mini theatre programme at our stand, with sessions covering a range of topics relevant to local government. Sessions include:

Introduction to Government Commercial Agency – Eddie Gibson, GCA

GCA was formed in April 2026, bringing together commercial expertise from the Cabinet Office’s Central Commercial Teams and Crown Commercial Service into a single, integrated agency. Find out how we could help your council with its commercial and buying needs.

Contract management programme – Eddie Gibson, GCA and Natalia Silver, Local Partnerships

We will share headline results from the 2026 local government contract management survey, discuss the contractual implications arising from local government reorganisation, and talk you through the award-winning Contract Management Pioneer Programme, which is available for councils to participate in.

Contract management for senior stakeholders – Natalia Silver, Local Partnerships

Exploring why senior stakeholders in local government need to take contract management seriously, and how this largely untapped source of efficiency could help your council.

Cyber security – Tom Stanley, GCA

An examination of the evolving cyber threat landscape, covering emerging risks, the latest mitigations, and key industry and market developments, with a focus on what these trends mean in practice for public sector organisations.

Integrated transport – Steve Sopp, GCA

Discover the Intelligent Transport Systems available through our new transport technology agreement. This session covers routes to market, support services, and our partnerships with key sector organisations including ITS UK, the British Parking Association, and the Local Council Road Innovation Group.

LGA Sustainability Programme – Grace Abel, LGA

The Local Government Association (LGA) delivers a sustainability programme as part of its sector support offer, funded in partnership with GCA. The programme provides tools and opportunities to build capability and capacity in sustainability and the environment.
