The agreement reflects all the latest NHS standards of healthcare cleanliness and health technical memorandum (HTM) 07-01: safe and sustainable management of healthcare waste.

Buyers can purchase single services from an individual lot or purchase multiple services in a bundled option.

Services you can buy include:

  • linen and laundry including the collection, wash and return of laundry and specialist laundry services
  • waste services including the collection, storage and removal of general, recycled, classified, clinical and medical waste
  • security including guarding services such as alarm response, access control, passes and perimeter guarding
  • visitor support services such as reception duties and telephony services
  • grounds maintenance including soft landscaping, tree surgery, snow and ice clearance and planting
  • porterage services: transporting patients, stores, and equipment
  • catering such as patient feeding, meeting hospitality, event catering, full restaurant services and vending services
  • cleaning such as routine and reactive cleaning services, including pest control, ambulance vehicle decontamination

How to buy

Before you can buy from this framework you must complete the customer user agreement (CUA) form.  Email the completed CUA form to info@gca.gov.uk quoting ‘RM6331 CUA’ in the subject line of the email. 

There are 2 ways to buy from this agreement:

  • further competition
  • direct award

Before running a further competition or direct award, you must complete:

  • call-off schedules
  • joint schedules

Call-off schedules and joint schedules are  listed individually  in the documents section.

We advise you to follow your own internal processes and seek your own legal advice when selecting which optional schedules are relevant to your specific needs.

You can use your own internal eSourcing system to run your further competition or you can use our eSourcing tool. If this is your first time using our eSourcing suite, you will need to register an account.

If you have already registered, sign in to your eSourcing account.

To run a further competition you will need to:

  1. Take part in pre-market engagement with suppliers to help you define your needs. This is optional.
  2. Identify which suppliers and lots can meet your needs.
  3. Write your specification, make sure it is detailed and includes:
    • invitation to tender
    • evaluation criteria
    • draft order form
  4. Invite all identified suppliers to submit a tender in writing. This can be by email or through your preferred e-Sourcing tool.
  5. Set a deadline for the submission of tenders. Allow enough time based on how complex your needs are.
  6. Keep all tenders confidential until the deadline has passed.
  7. Evaluate supplier responses fairly and equally.
  8. Award your call-off contract by sending the following to the successful supplier:
    • a completed and signed Framework schedule 6
    • completed and signed order form
  9. Provide unsuccessful suppliers with written feedback.
  10. Publish the awarded contract on contracts finder.
